Six Inspired Wedding Invitations

Real talk: the wedding invitation game is daunting. And while we love a classic A7 invitation suite lettered with wispy calligraphy, we‘re noticing couples infusing personality into their invites, setting a unique tone for their wedding the moment guests open the envelope. We reached out to our graphic designers Stef P. and January W. for their favorite fresh takes on invitations. Read on to be inspired.

From Stef P.:

“I loved this one for all of its little quirks: the fact it folds out, the illustrations, and the hidden humor. If I was going to this wedding, I’d be super stoked.”

“This one has a similar quirky vibe, but it speaks even more to the couple themselves. I loved that they had little mad libs and enlarged their cartoon characters for the wedding; it made it feel cohesive.”

“This one is a little out-of-the ordinary but speaks to my fine artist self. I love any invitation that’s a poster and this one’s letterpressed with woodblock type—it looks just like an old school Motown poster!”

From January W.:

“I love this design by Jolly Edition. I’m a big fan of tasteful gold foil & mixed media. The celestial nod is unique and elegant; my mind is already daydreaming of what this wedding will be like!”

“Love, love, loooove Venamour. Lisa Hedge has a great eye for color, which I’m a sucker for. If this hints at what the wedding vibe will be, count me in.”

“A modern play on the classic crest motif, these invites are enchanting. Stephanie Fishwick’s work is unique (paired with her beautiful calligraphy, it’s so striking). I love the hidden elements in the designs. It’s like a seek-and-find, a wink to the one who finds it.”
